๐ฑ Samsung Galaxy A03 Core (SM-A032F) Factory Reset via Recovery Mode – Forgotten Password Hard Reset Guide
๐ Introduction
The Samsung Galaxy A03 Core is a popular entry-level phone, and one of the most common jobs it brings to the workshop bench is a forgotten screen lock (PIN, pattern or password). The standard fix is a factory reset from Recovery Mode.

| Samsung SM-A032F Recovery Mode – Hold Volume Up Until It Appears |
On many Samsung phones this is simple. On the A03 Core, however, there is a detail that confuses a lot of technicians: during the key sequence a text screen full of lines, numbers and codes (it looks like a DOS-style console) appears before the recovery menu. Many people think the phone is stuck or that they pressed the wrong buttons, and they release the key too early.

In this guide we explain the exact procedure, what that text screen is, and the steps to wipe the device safely.

⚖️ Legal Disclaimer – For Licensed Technicians and Workshops
This guide is intended exclusively for licensed repair technicians and certified repair workshops, and for owners resetting their own devices. A factory reset erases all user data from the phone. Only perform it on devices you own or have clear written permission to service. This article does not cover bypassing Google account or Samsung account protection.
⚠️ Before You Start
- Data will be lost. Photos, apps, messages and settings are erased. If the owner needs the data, discuss it with them first.
- Charge the phone to at least 50%. A reset interrupted by a dead battery can cause boot problems.
- Remove the SIM and memory card if you want to protect them (the reset erases internal storage, but it is good practice).
- Account protection (FRP): if a Google account was signed in before the reset, Android's Factory Reset Protection will ask for that account's credentials when the phone restarts. The owner must know the email and password of the account used on the phone. Having the purchase receipt and account recovery options ready saves time.
๐ ️ Step-by-Step: Factory Reset Samsung Galaxy A03 Core from Recovery Mode
๐ Step 1 – Power the phone off
If the phone is locked and the power menu is not accessible, or the phone refuses to restart normally, press and hold Volume Down + Power together for a long press until the screen turns off.
๐ Step 2 – Start the recovery key sequence
- With the phone off, press and hold Power + Volume Up.
- Keep holding until the Samsung logo appears.
- Release the Power button as soon as the logo shows.
- Keep holding Volume Up. Do not release it.
๐ฅ️ Step 3 – Ignore the text screen (the special part of this model)
After the logo, the display may show a console-style screen with lines of text, numbers and codes.
- ❌ Do not release the Volume Up button.
- ❌ Do not press other keys.
- ✅ Keep holding Volume Up for about 20 seconds or more until the Android Recovery menu appears.
This screen appears during the boot stage of the Unisoc-based board before recovery loads. It is normal for this model, and releasing the key too early makes the phone boot or restart instead of entering recovery.
๐งญ Step 4 – Navigate the recovery menu
When the Android Recovery menu appears, you can release Volume Up.
- Volume Up / Volume Down = move between options.
- Power button = select.
๐งน Step 5 – Wipe data / factory reset
- Scroll to Wipe data/factory reset.
- Press Power to select.
- Confirm the warning by selecting Factory data reset (or Yes, depending on the screen).
- Wait until the process finishes.
๐ Step 6 – Reboot
- Select Reboot system now.
- The first boot after a reset takes longer than usual, so wait a few minutes.
- Complete the initial setup. If asked for the previous Google account, the owner must sign in with it (see the FRP note above).
๐งฉ Troubleshooting
| Problem | Likely cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Phone boots normally instead of recovery | Volume Up was released too early | Repeat and hold Volume Up for more than 20 seconds |
| Stuck on the text screen | Not enough time or wrong key combination | Power off fully and repeat the sequence |
| Phone will not power off | Frozen system | Hold Volume Down + Power for a long press |
| Recovery menu appears but keys do nothing | Worn or dirty side keys | Check the key flex cable and contacts on the bench |
| Phone restarts after reset | Interrupted wipe or low battery | Charge the phone and repeat the reset |
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Is the text screen a sign of a fault? No. On the A03 Core it is part of the normal key-combination boot sequence, so keep holding Volume Up.
Will this method remove the Google account? No. A factory reset wipes the data, but Google's reset protection can still ask for the account that was used on the phone.
Can I recover the data after the reset? Not from the phone itself. Data can only be restored from a backup made before the reset.
Does the same method work for the A03 and A03s? The basic idea (Power + Volume Up, then the recovery menu) is similar on many Samsung phones, but the extra text screen is the special behavior you will notice on the A03 Core.
